THE ALTA SCHOOL

The Jordan School District (now Canyons Shool District) opened a one room school in Alta in 2002, it is housed at the Goldminer's Daughter Lodge, ranges from K-8th grades with about 17 children. Jaeann Tschiffley has been the teacher since inception. The school publishes and distributes a newspaper every winter entitled "Altatude".

ACE has been involved with the school for many years.In 2008-2009 ACE expanded its outreach to the Alta School by hosting art and music teachers, museum and theater field trips to Salt Lake City and arranging extracurricular art and dance activities. For 2009-10 we have educational and dance fieldtrips, as well as monthly art and dance teachers.
