Gnome Hunt

A gnome will be hiding somewhere off the Wildcat Lift - go a searching for it and bring the gnome to us at 5pm at base of wildcat/collins. Clues will be posted on facebook! So like us and you will have a heads up on the gnomes hiding spot.

                         Currently, all spots are full but if you have your own equipment we can acommodate you.
                         Will begin as soon as Hole in One is finished.  Please register with admin@altaarts.org by March 10.

                         First 25 to register will recieve a biathalon t-shirt.

Join a highly trained volunteer from Cottonwood Canyons Foundation for an informative and fun learning experience. Learn about the fascinating local mining history, public lands, watershed and winter ecology.

Winter Wildlands Alliance Fest- BACKCOUNTRY FILM FESTIVAL

7pm   Our Lady of the Snows   $5

Winter Wildlands Alliance created the Backcountry Film Festival in 2005 to help grassroots and professional filmmakers to show audiences their love of the winter outdoors.
Film to show:
Best of the Backcountry: "Skiing the Void" by Sweetgrass Productions
Best Grassroots Film: "Alaska Wilderness Ski Classic" by Luc Mehl
Best Environmental Film: "Stories of Trust" by International Trust Campaign

AND LOCALS BC SKI FLICK COMP!  (WHAT?  YES!)

Continuing with the tone of the Winter Wildlands Alliance BC Film Festival we are hoping to host (5) five-minute long, locally produced films that provide compelling stories of the 12/13' season's powder, booters, lines, summits, backcountry travel, environmental advocacy, and snow safety. All videos MUST include at least one snow safety precaution taken to reduce avalanche exposure, including, but not exclusive to, snow stability testing and safe mountain travel.  

All requirements are attached on the document at the bottom of this page.
