The Wildflower Festival started in 1996 by a tight-knit community of friends and was funded by The Alta Lodge. This community wanted to share their beautiful environment, flowers, food, musicians, and Romantic Alta with each other and the rest of the world. Oh and, like always, it was a great party too!
The Wasatch Wildflower Festival is now a collaboration between Alta Community Enrichment and The Cottonwood Canyons Foundation. It is also supported through the efforts of Alta Ski Area, Solitude Ski Area, Brighton Ski Area, Snowbird Ski and Summer resort and The U.S. Forest Service.
The Festival's goal is to provide a fun and encouraging environment for people to learn about the wide diversity of wildflowers that are found in the Wasatch Mountains as well as the protection of the watershed.
